Georgetown College football scored six first half touchdowns and cruised to the win Saturday in Barboursville, Ky. The No. 14 Tigers held Union College scoreless until late in the third quarter of a 42-21 win.
Cody Wolfe opened up the offense a bit more, passing for two touchdowns on 12-of-20 for 229 yards. Boo Crabtree got a little more time under center as well, going 1-of-5 for five yards as Georgetown's quarterback situation remains day-to-day.
Sowder had a two score day with 101 yards on eight carries. Ben Patenaude had one catch for one touchdown that went for 46 yards to lead the receivers.
Brock Messina proved the force on the defense once again with 10 tackles, including four sacks for a loss of 18 yards. The senior also forced two fumbles.
Georgetown could not find an offensive rhythm in the second half, but the defense continued to stonewall the Bulldogs enough. UC did not cross the goal line until 3:48 remained in the third quarter. Late in the Union added its second score and then a pick six was the last tally of the day.
The Tigers return to action 1:30 pm Saturday in the season finale against Lindsey Wilson College at Toyota Stadium.
