Men's Soccer - Thu, Nov. 14, 2013
Georgetown College men's soccer place four on the Mid-South Conference All-Academic team, earning a 3.25 or higher as a sophomore or higher.
John Cothran, Stefan Iverson, Matthew Murphy and Aldo Torres equaled the total from 2011 for the Tigers after having one lone representative in 2012.
"They are students first and I'm very pleased to go along with a very good season we showed the commitment in the classroom as well," said GC coach Derek Willis.
Georgetown finished with five wins this season and sixth in the conference after being picked preseason eighth. The men played in the quarterfinals this past weekend and lost a tough game to three-seed Campbellsville.
"We didn't even make the tournament a season ago, but the determination and drive started at the end of 2012," Willis said. "The guys had a great spring season, which translated into what we did this fall.
"I think having four of our eligible players make the grade is just further proof of the dedication to succeed all the way around."
