Accolades continue to roll in for Tiger women's soccer. Junior forward Sam Amend and freshman defender Max Zimmer were selected to the Mid-South Conference second team the league announced Wednesday afternoon.

"All my players are deserving and have helped to make it possible for these two to be recognized," said GC coach Leah Crews Castleman. "Sam has been the one up top making things happen, while Max has been the staple on the defense to direct and help shut opponents down."

Amend is sitting on nine goals for the season, triple her high a season ago of three. She has netted four in the past two games and her four-game winning goals are tied for third in the conference, 39th in the NAIA.

Zimmer was the center back for a defensive unit that allowed just 21 goals thus far and had seven shutouts. GC had 12 goals scored when playing two of the top ranked teams in the nation. Remove losses to Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland University and Georgetown's defense allowed just nine goals in 14 games.
