On Senior Night in Columbia, the Blue Raiders poured it on the Tigers (9-6-1) for an 8-0 win.
"I know we are a different team from that first meeting," said GC coach Leah Crews Castleman. "We are peaking at the right time and I expect this to be a good game."
Georgetown was the sixth-seed for the tournament, the lowest it has ever been, but that did not stop them from reaching and 14th straight semifinals match. The Tigers, trailing 1-0, roared all the way back as Sam Amend scored two goals to beat third-seed Campbellsville in Campbellsville.
Amend has scored all four goals in the past two games and was recently named MSC Offensive Player of the Week and MSC All-Conference second team.
A solid defensive core anchored by freshman Max Zimmer and dominated by lockdown defenders Tara Joseph, Kaitlyn Osborn and Lauren Brooks as given up just 21 goals in 16 games with seven shutouts. Zimmer was named MSC All-Conference second team for being the final line of defense in front of some rookie goalies.
Danielle Lang has been the starting keeper, but got injured early against Campbellsville and will be out for the semifinal match. Brittney Moshos came in and played the final 69 minutes with 11 saves and allowed no goals.
Finals will be semifinal winners at 5 pm Friday.
