Andrea Howard averaged 28.5 points this past week and is fourth in the Mid-South Conference with an 18-points-per-game average. Georgetown is on a five-game winning streak, and with the two wins this past week Howard earned conference Player of the Week Honors.
It is the first time this season the No. 7 Tigers (12-3) have had a player receive this honor.
The Frankfort, Ky. guard added five rebounds and two assists per game in wins over University of Pikeville and Bluefield College.
She hit 7-of-11 shots and tied a season-high five made threes in a 101-86 win over the Bears. She followed that by tying her career-high of 34 points in a 98-77 win over the Rams.
For the week, the senior connected on 60 percent (18-of-30) of her shots, including 61.5 from deep (8-of-13). She was also 13-of-15 from the free throw line, a perfect 9-of-9 Saturday.
Howard ranks second in the MSC in both three-point field goal percentage (42.9) and free throw percentage (87.8). She ranks sixth nationally in free throw percentage and 15th in three-point percentage. Her 18 ppg is 23rd in the NAIA.
Georgetown is 12-3 overall and 6-1 in the conference. The team hits the road Thursday against Cumberland University.
