Georgetown - Thu, Feb. 13, 2014
U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! That's the chant heard round the nation as the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics is about to start week two of competition. More importantly, it is the chant Georgetown College hopes fills the Grille Monday night as our very own assistant track and field coach Dallas Robinson takes to the bobsled hill in the two-man competition.
"We are very excited," said GC track and field coach Todd McDaniel. "Dallas has worked with us for over a year now, and we couldn't be more thrilled for him, his teammates and this whole experience."
Robinson competes in the two- and four-man teams with Nick Cunningham as the driver. In the two-man, Robinson, serving as push athlete and brake man, and Cunningham have been near the top most of this season and are definitely one of the teams to watch in Sochi.
Student life and athletics encourage students to come together to watch Robinson and cheer him on and share in the Olympic experience as a collective group. Snacks will be available and the Grille will stay open late since the viewing party begins at 8 pm.
NBC's coverage runs through 11:30 pm every night, but the bobsledding event may occur at any time during that time frame.
