Women's Basketball - Thu, Feb. 20, 2014

Georgetown College women's basketball had to battle against the feisty Lindsey Wilson College. The Blue Raiders, who are receiving votes, pulled even several times with the No. 8 team in the country, but in the end it was the Tigers (18-6, 12-4) that put the pedal to the medal in the 79-67 win.

All six scoring players reached double figures for Georgetown led by Kourtney Tyra's 17. Lizza Jonas and Andrea Howard, the other two seniors, dropped 15 each. Jonas added a career-high seven assists along with two steals, one block and four rebounds.

Devanny King had 12 points, while Jessica Foster and Teonia McCune added 10 each. McCune also had a game-high 10 rebounds.

Tara Arnold led the Blue Raiders with 17 points, while Cassidy Martin (12), Chanel Roberts (11) and Jamie Cummings (10) also reached double figures.

The Tigers return to action 2 pm Saturday for Senior Day against Cumberland University. GC will honor Jonas, Tyra and Howard.
