Chelsea Riney used her speed and equalized the second game against Warner University Thursday in Wales Lake, Fla. The senior doubled to right center then stole on a walk issued to Taylor Shaw. As the Royals attempted to catch her, an error occurred, allowing Riney to round and tie the game 4-4.

The Tigers (4-0) pushed the winning run in the top of the seventh to sweep the Royals, 5-4.

Rachel Simms scored the winning run as she was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Alexis Bahl walked and Riney reached on an error to load the bases. Warner pitcher Hannah Sikes was then called for a balk that advanced Simms and gave the Tigers all the offense it needed.

Jessica Claxton picked up the win, relieving Shelby Engle an out into the fourth. The freshman allowed just two hits with five strikeouts, one walk and no runs. She runs her record to 3-0 on the season with a save in 12 and 2/3 innings worked.

GC managed just five hits in the second game, no one getting more than one. Riney, Taylor Shaw, Cassidy Taylor, Emily Snow and Sandy Young all recorded hits, while Riney, Engle, Taylor, Marissa Massie and Simms all scored runs. Snow and Young had RBIs.

Georgetown returns to action 2 pm Friday against Southeastern University to wrap up play in Florida.
