Women's Lacrosse - Thu, Feb. 27, 2014
Georgetown College women's lacrosse is gearing up for its spring season, part of that is selecting a team captain. Coach Brandon Davis named Kaysie Smith the Tigers first-ever captain Thursday afternoon.
"It is another step on this journey of building a program and very exciting," Davis said. "Kaysie is a clear leader and an excellent choice. She shows great leadership on- and off-the-field, as well as a model student-athlete."
The sophomore is a dominant impact player for Georgetown, filling any role needed and maintaining a 3.87 grade point average.
Smith also serves on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She is a Louisville, Ky. native and Ballard High School alumna.
Georgetown opens noon Saturday with a game against Davenport University.
