Georgetown College baseball has already missed nine games this season due to winter weather. Titan has once again forced No. 23 Tigers (7-2) to adjust their schedule. Fortunately, this time they are playing a team to the south and instead of playing at home, will travel to Georgia Tuesday and Wednesday.
"This has been very tough on our schedule, but when you live in Kentucky you come to expect the unexpected with the weather," said GC coach Micah Baumfeld. "I'm glad that Reinhardt was able to work things out, and we will get these games in before another big conference weekend."
Georgetown will go to Waleski, Ga. for a 4 pm, single game Tuesday against the Eagles and then both teams will play a neutral site, nine-inning contest Wednesday in Marietta, Ga.
"Reinhardt was able to work a deal out with Southern Poly to use its field Wednesday, so we are very appreciative of this whole situation. It will be very good to get in some mid-week games," Baumfeld said.
GC hits the road again Friday for another important Mid-South Conference showdown with No. 15 Lindsey Wilson College. The Tigers started 1-2 against the top picked Bulldogs of Cumberland University.
First pitch is set for 4 pm Friday in Columbia, Ky. with a doubleheader starting at 2 pm Saturday.
