Spring football practice is in full gear with the culmination in hard work set for the 117th annual Orange & Black Scrimmage April 24. Toyota Stadium will open at 6 pm with the kickoff set for 7 pm and the grudge match deadlocked at 58 wins for the Orange and 58 wins for the Black.
"This is an exciting time for everyone," said GC coach Bill Cronin. "Our players have been hitting the work outs hard and now we are getting out on the field. We had a really good first full practice the other day. We will add pads and it will all build to our scrimmage at the end of April.
"We will have a burger or some pork, chips and a drink as we do every year. Cost for the food and admission is just five dollars. Our incoming class will be on hand so our fans can meet them. This whole event is just really exciting, and we are looking forward to packing the stands that night."
The Tigers currently have almost 40 new players for the fall season which will be here for the game, officially sign on Friday and go through orientation on Saturday.
Come meet the new Tigers, watch the current Tigers and enjoy football and food.
"Main goals of spring practice are to stay healthy and see progression in technique and maturity," Cronin said. "With the way we started, I feel good about what our fans will see that Thursday evening."
