Men's Golf - Mon, Sep. 8, 2014

Georgetown College men's golf opened the fall season with a fantastic round Monday at Cherry Blossom. The Tigers finished 16 strokes ahead of second place University of Pikeville with a 294.

Freshman Connor Danis led the team-scorers for GC with a 72, but was beat in the individual competition by teammate Connor Taylor's 70.

"It is a great day when you play that well all the way around and even have an individual that is leading the whole tournament," said Tiger men's golf coach Flash Williams. "We had six men finish in the Top 10 for day one. That's impressive."

Madison Huegel's 74 game GC three men in the top four finishers, while Logan Smith (76), Jacob Flora (78) and Matthew Feltner (79) rounded out those top scorers.

Asbury rounded out the field with a 329. Everyone will return in the morning for the conclusion of the 36-hole tournament.
