Men's Golf - Tue, Sep. 9, 2014

Georgetown College men's golf did something it has never done – win its own home tournament. The Tigers shot a 303 on day two, for a 597 total. University of Pikeville made a charge, finishing just 15 strokes back with a 612.

"This is a great start to this year," said GC coach Flash Williams. "We are so young, three freshmen, a sophomore and two seniors are who leading us. Now I'd like to see us build on this."

The Tigers do not play again until the end of September when they travel to Prestonsburg for Pikeville's tournament.

The Bear's Will Boyd and Casey Castle finished one-two at the top of the leaderboard, separated by just one stroke. Georgetown then had the next five top golfers – Madison Huegel (149), Connor Danis (149), Connor Taylor (149), Jacob Flora (152) and Logan Smith (152).
