Tayler Godar ran away from the competition Saturday, picking up a first and second place finish in the Centre Invitational for 19 points for Georgetown College women's track and field team.

Monday afternoon the Mid-South Conference announced the senior was the league's Track Athlete of the Week. This is the first honor of the season for Godar and fourth in her track career.

For the second meet in a row, the Cincinnati, Ohio native won the 800-meter run. She crossed in two minutes 25 seconds and 72 hundredths of a second, nearly a full second ahead of Berea College's Layne Callow and six-plus seconds ahead of the closest MSC competitor.

She took second in her other race, the 1,500-meter run. Godar crossed in 4:52.41, a second behind Lincoln Memorial's Whitney Elliott. The harrier was nearly 20 seconds faster than the next conference finisher.

Georgetown hits the track again this weekend in a two-day meet at University of the Cumberlands.
