Cheerleading - Mon, Apr. 11, 2016

Georgetown College Tiger cheerleaders are holding open tryouts April 30 from 9 am–12 pm in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym for the 2016-17 season. Tryouts are open to male and female returning students, transfers and incoming freshmen who want to be a member of the team.

All participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate three tumbling passes, one of which should be a standing back handspring; three jumps – toe touch, pike and hurdler; and stunts. Everyone will also be required to learn a dance and sideline cheers taught on the day of tryouts. Each person will be looked at and scored on their individual ability.

Please wear a white or gray tank, black or white sports bra for the ladies, black shorts and gym shoes. Hair needs to be up in a ponytail.

If you make the team, the commitment will include cheering all home football and men's and women's basketball games, men's and women's Mid-South Conference tournament, as well as competing in the Mid-South Conference Cheer Competition. Other requirements may be set throughout the year.
