The Georgetown College Cross Country freshman has led her team in all four of its meets this season, winning one meet, twice placing second and once in third place. She proved it again on Saturday at the Centre College Invitational by coming in second in a field of 51 with a time of 19:56 in the 5K race and leading her team to a first place finish.

"It's so exciting to see a newcomer start off so strong," said Head Coach Abe Padilla. "She and Lucas (Garnett, also a freshman on the men's team,) are going to build a strong future for themselves and our program."

Lindsey Wilson took second place in the women's race followed by host Centre College. Other teams competing were Transylvania University, Midway College and Berea College.

The Georgetown College Men's Cross Country Team took fourth place behind Centre, Berea and Lindsey Wilson. Individually, the Tigers were led by Garnett, with a time of 29:52 in the 8K race.

Next up for Georgetown is a trip to Berea on Saturday.
