Georgetown College freshman Britney Chesser led her team to a second place finish in the Shawnee State Cross Country Invitational on Friday.

Georgetown College freshman Britney Chesser led her team to a second place finish in the Shawnee State Cross Country Invitational on Friday.

Chesser finished third overall with a time of 20:12 in the 5K race. Shawnee State won the meet with Ohio Valley placing third in the team totals.

The Georgetown College Men's Cross Country Team competed in the meet with a total of eight schools and also were led by a freshman, Lucas Garnett, with a time of 28:50 in the 8K race. The Tigers finished in fifth place behind Shawnee State, Davis and Elkins, Mt. Vernon Nazarene and University of Rio Grande.
