Georgetown College men's and women's soccer team have proven time and again this season the skill they possess on the field, but Wednesday afternoon the Mid-South Conference announced the dedication and intelligence they possess in the classroom.

Eight of the 67 men and 14 of the 82 women receiving a 3.25 or higher grade point average with at least a sophomore standing were Georgetown Tigers.

The No. 24 women's soccer team honored four seniors – Danielle Lang, Brittney Moshos, Makenzie Zimmer Sherrard and Abby Sobolewski – Tuesday night, all of which are third-time honorees as MSC All-Academic. Emily Conner, Jodi DeJohn, Emily Wright, Zoe Stovik and Elise McKinney are juniors who were honored. Sophomores Emily Anderson, Lauren Duggins, Bethany Massey, Fatima Maxwell and Skye Zimmer are all first time honorees.

Coach Leah Crews Castleman had 17 players who are at least sophomores, meaning 82.4 percent of potential honorees received this award.

The women's banquet is Wednesday evening in Bowling Green, Ky. with the quarterfinals Thursday.

On the men's side, Blaine Alexander, Isaac Meisner and Matthew Oster are receiving the honor for the third time. Michael Hatfield and Austin Howard are second time honorees, while Kyle Settle, Lucas Wiman and Ben Hoertz are first time recipients.

The men's banquet will be held on Thursday in Bowling Green and the quarterfinals are on Friday.
