Georgetown College men's soccer fought to the end against Cumberland University in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference tournament. The Tigers (4-10-4) contained the Phoenix (10-6-1) for most of the first half. However, in an eight minute span late in the first half, CU broke it open in a 5-0 Tiger loss.

Matthew Oster came up with a couple of saves to keep it to just five, but Georgetown struggled to find an offensive rhythm.

"I am really happy with the effort the guys gave tonight," said GC coach Derek Willis. "We started the game strongly and were victims to a tough penalty call. Cumberland made us pay for the few mistakes we made, but we pushed until the end of the game."
