Acrobatics & Tumbling - Wed, Jan. 25, 2017

It's time to flip, lift, spot our way to a pyramid of acrobatic fun. The Georgetown College acrobatic and tumbling team will hit the mats for a demonstration of the exciting upcoming varsity season. Come cheer on your Tigers 4 pm Sunday in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

Coach Alicia Castagneto will introduce Tiger Nation to its 14 newest student-athletes, while also explaining how this five-event – compulsories, acro, pyramid, toss and tumbling – meet works. Each event has several heats inside that will add to the final total team score.

"It has been a long year and a half getting this off the ground, but we are very exciting for our season to finally be here," said Castagneto. "Georgetown has done an awesome job of getting us ready for this moment. Our student-athletes that helped to be the base for this program this past year as we worked on the basics are ready to not only get out and showcase skills, but compete. Sunday gives us our first opportunity to have a more formal practice, setting the stage for when we go to Wisconsin in early February."
