GEORGETOWN, Ky.-It was a classic battle of defense versus offense in the annual Orange and Black Spring Football Game. Head coach Bill Cronin put all of his offensive unit on the orange team and his defense on the black, with the defense getting the best of the offense by a score of 54-48.

The offense led at the half 34-27, but the defense came back strong in the third quarter, after an interception by Nick Schickel resulted in a touchdown.

The scoring was anything but traditional, as the defense racked up points in big plays including loss of yardage, third and fourth down stops and turnovers throughout the night. The spring game completes the off-season practice schedule for the Tigers. The first game of the 2009 season will be at the Big River Bowl in Dyersburg, Tenn. where Georgetown will face William Penn.
