Georgetown College men's and women's basketball teams head to Frankfort this coming week for the Mid-South Conference tournament. The men struggled a bit down the stretch, but with a road win Thursday secured a second-seed. The women came on strong in the end, winning three of the final six conference games to pick up fifth place.

Both teams finished in ties the league had to decipher out to determine placement. The women were in a three-way tie for fifth and had same head-to-head and record against MSC opponents. The third tiebreak, there was no common opponents amongst all three and thus went to points. GC won that for fifth place and a 4 pm Thursday date with No. 22 University of Pikeville.

The men's overtime loss to Lindsey Wilson College on Saturday forced a tie for second with Pikeville's men. However, GC swept the Bears and thus clinched second.

The Tigers will have a 6 pm Friday showdown with Campbellsville University.

Saturday's semifinals are set at 2 and 4 pm for the women and men at 6 and 8 pm. Keep track of all the tournament action with the online bracket for women here and men here.

GC's men enter the tournament in defense of the 2016 title and looking for a 10th championship overall. The women are in search of their sixth and first since 2008.
