Women's Basketball - Fri, Mar. 24, 2017

Georgetown College women's basketball continues a trend of All-Americans as senior Emilie Ziese earned NAIA All-American honorable mention Thursday evening as announced by the league office.

Ziese scored 720 points and grabbed 647 rebounds. She finishes 14th all-time in total rebounds as only the second player in the Top 20 with fewer than 100 games played. The Rensselaer, Ind. native played 88 games for a 7.4 rebounds per game average. She also finished with 284 field goals on 562 attempts for a program eighth best of 50.5 percent from the field.

The forward finished her career nationally ranked 13th in rebounds per game (10.3), 14th in defensive rebounds per game (6.8), 20th in offensive rebounds per game (3.6) and 31 in total rebounds with 258.

Ziese is the 13th women's basketball player to receive All-American status, counting only the first time a player was honored – several players have been honored two or three times in their career. It is the sixth straight year for GC to have at least one honoree.
