Georgetown College football is hosting its annual golf outing May 19 at Cherry Blossom Golf Course. Registration begins at 8:45 am in the club house where coffee and breakfast items will be available. Teams or individuals who have been placed in teams, will gather, picking up their sleeve of golf balls as well as complementary apparel with Georgetown and the title sponsor Service First Logistics logos on it.

Tee off shortly after 9 am in shotgun fashion with games and contests around the course. Lunch will be delivered to your carts and pizza will be available as players finish their rounds and await score tabulations.

The winning team and individuals of the longest drive and closest to the pin will be honored and the dead last team will also receive its special prize. Auction items will be available as usual so participants should come ready to bid.

Cost for the day is $500 per team of four or $125 per person. All proceeds go to helping Tiger football in its chase for a fourth title in 2017.

"It's a fun day to reminisce and telling tall tales that we look forward to every year," said GC coach Bill Cronin. "Once again it is the Friday before our athletic hall of fame banquet, which so many of our alumni are a part of or will be a part of in the coming years. We hope for another great crowd to enjoy a day on Cherry Blossom's beautiful course and stay for the banquet the following evening.

"This year we are inducting Forty Jackson, Lenard Kern, the 2001 national championship team and Joel Stockstill who coached baseball and football at Georgetown College."
