Georgetown College women's lacrosse player Avery Blackmon broke a program record, her own, with 20 draw controls in a game against University of the Cumberlands. This helped to catapult the No. 5 Tigers (6-4) to a pair of wins and she earned her first NAIA National Defender of the Week honor.

In the 19-15 win over the No. 8 Patriots, she added six goals and four assists with her 20 draw controls as GC took the road victory. GC turned around on Saturday and won 17-9 over receiving votes Reinhardt University. She scored three goals and had three assists with a game-high nine draw controls.

Blackmon ranks second nationally in total assists (26) and assists per game (2.6).

The Tigers are back in action 6 pm April 13 at Missouri Baptist University.
