Women's Lacrosse - Thu, Apr. 13, 2017

Merrisa Heraldson netted back-to-back goals late in the first half that helped put Georgetown College lacrosse ahead for good at Missouri Baptist University. The senior scored GC's sixth and seventh goals as the team won 14-6.

The No. 5 Tigers (7-4, 2-1) trailed three times early, but junior Doreen Brabble bookended a 6-1 run over the final 13 minutes as the visitors emerged victorious.

Heraldson had three goals in that stretch, while Brabble had two and Shelby Campbell one. Avery Blackmon had the lone assist in that burst, setting up Heraldson's first one.

Heraldson tied the game at one and Blackmon tied the game at two as the Spartans (5-4, 1-2) never led by more than one. Heraldson alone had six goals in the contest. Blackmon finished with four and an assist.

MBU scored twice in the second half to pull within two, but got no closer as Brabble started a 6-0 spurt to finish out the game. Campbell connected with Blackmon, assisting on the final goal of the afternoon.

Georgetown remains on the road and plays noon Saturday at Lindenwood University – Belleville.
