Cumberland University scored on the third play of the ballgame when J.T. Majors ran for a 52 yard touchdown but Georgetown answered on the next drive and kept control in the Tigers 45-14 win at home Saturday.

Tiger quarterback Mike Lewis did it all, leading the team in rushing with 50 yards and two touchdowns while completing 17 of 22 passes on the day for a total of 186 yards. Redshirt freshman Kaelin Ammons caught five passes on the day for a total of 77 yards and one touchdown in his second start.

"Mike really put the ball on the money several times today," said Head Coach Bill Cronin. "He was able to pick it apart and showed a lot of confidence with the option. We really didn't have many dropped balls and I think you will see his improvement every week. I'm just glad he's on our side."

Defensively, senior linebacker Jeff Gaby sacked Cumberland's Matt Eads two times for a total loss of 14 yards and sophomore Donny Walker added another. Robert Catron and Dustin Menetrey led the team with eight total tackles each, including Menetrey's back-to-back stops when the Bulldogs were in the redzone in the third quarter.

The Tigers will take a week off before heading to Union College on September 27th.
