Georgetown College softball opens Mid-South Conference play 2 pm EST in Bowling Green, Ky. against University of the Cumberlands. The Tigers (32-12) will then play a to-be-determined opponent at 6 pm EST based on the results of everyone's first round in the double-elimination tournament.

Thursday evening, though, all seven teams took a moment to honor the collective good season for the league with the annual banquet.

GC had eight young ladies earn all-conference honors and another earn Gold Glove recognition for the best fielding percentage at her specific fielding position.

For the third straight season, Chaselyn Allgeier was named first-team. Joining her was Sydney Goyette, Audrey Dodd and Katie Young. Bringing in second-team honors was Cassidy Janes, Chelsae Osborn, Alli Watson and Kara Howard.

Corrin Robinson won the gold glove for second base, posting a .992 fielding average. She had 123 catches, 72 putouts, 50 assists and just one error in the 41 games she started this season. This is the first year gold glove honors have been handed out on the softball side.

Goyette, Howard and Janes also earned academic all-conference honors by being sophomores or higher with at least a 3.25 grade point average.
