Georgetown College will continue to be a catalyst in changing the culture of sport in today's society by hosting a NAIA Champions of Character Training Workshop July 17-18 at the Conference Leadership and Training Center.

Over 40 coaches and administrators representing 22 schools will be in attendance for the training. The two-day seminar will include presentations on how to reach the intended audience, redefining the term "athlete," the role of parents in athletics and teaching character using weekly themes.

Bruce Brown, author of the book Teaching Character through Sport and president of ProActive Coaching, will be the keynote speaker.

The Champions of Character Program is grounded in five core values including respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship. The objective is to intentionally teach character in sport to coaches, athletes, parents and fans.
