Georgetown College men's and women's tennis were finally eligible for national academic honors. The extremely youthful bunch the past few seasons did not meet the junior status requirement for the national honor. However, now four juniors are first time honorees.

The NAIA announced its 2017 Daktronic-NAIA Scholar Athlete recipients. A.J. Berk and Tristan Nosek were on the men's list, while Shae Henry and Emily Novak were on the women's.

In order to be consider, a student-athlete must be junior academic status and been at the current institution at least a year while maintaining at least a 3.5 grade point average.

GC's women have not had an honoree since 2014 and the men since 2015.

They are four of the 32 total Tigers honored during the 2016-17 year.
