Women's Soccer - Sat, Sep. 2, 2017

Tough day in the mud for Georgetown College women's soccer. The Tigers (2-1) suffered their first loss as host Savannah College of Art and Design – Savannah scored three goals in a 10 minute stretch early in the first half. The Bees (4-0-1) went on to win 4-0.

GC was outshot more than 5-1 and on frame 8-1 as the soggy conditions slowed down the team's pace of play.

Freshmen goalies Sarah Slusher and Megan Martin got a lot of work – facing 16 shots on frame total. Slusher worked the first 45 minutes and had eight saves, allowing three goals. Martin got welcomed to the game with a quick second half goal as the final SCAD-S tally. She had four saves.

Elise McKinney took the most shots for the Tigers with two, while Lindsey Dunn, Emily Conner and Bethany Massey each had a shot. Dunn's and Conner's were the lone GC shots on frame.

Georgetown stays on the road, finishing up the rainy excursion with a trip to Bluffton, SC to play University of South Carolina – Beaufort noon on Sunday.
