Men's Soccer - Sun, Sep. 3, 2017

Georgetown College men's soccer wrapped up its first week of action with a win over Bluffton University in the Centre College Invitational. The Tigers (2-1) Jordan Murdoch scored the winning goal, while Logan Blankenship picked up his first collegiate hat trick in the 5-1 win.

"I'm really happy how we bounced back after a lackluster performance Saturday," said GC coach Derek Willis. "The team worked hard as a group and got what they deserved from the game today."

Blankenship scored the first, third and fifth goals Sunday, giving him five goals on the season.

GC led 2-0 at the half and Bluffton made it interesting in the early minutes of the final 45, but Blankenship took a pass from Noah Mills and put the Tigers back to a goal cushion. Nick Gregory, who had great success at the same tournament a year ago, scored the fourth goal off an assist from Jacob Curry. It was Curry's second assist of the day. He finished with three when he and Blankenship hooked up once again for the final tally of the afternoon.

Noel Roman set up Murdoch's goal.
