Men's Soccer - Wed, Sep. 6, 2017

Nick Gregory has had several offensive explosions at the right time for Georgetown College men's soccer. It continued Wednesday evening when he scored the tying and game-winning goal. He also assisted on a pair of goals. The Tigers (3-1) dominated for another big win, 5-2, over Brescia University.

The Bearcats struck first in the 13th minute. Gregory knotted it in the 27th minute and then just before halftime gave GC its first lead by assisting Cody Shackleford.

This appeared to be the game-winner at the time, but BU got a late goal that gave them two, making Gregory's goal from Noah Mills in the 71st minute the tally for victory.

Just more than a minute later Gregory connected with Logan Blankenship for his sixth goal of the season and a cushion goal against Brescia.

Blankenship set up Brantley Dice in the 90th minute for the final score of the game.

"I'm pleased we put together two good games in a row," said GC coach Derek Willis. "Disappointed in our defending for their first goal, but loved our composure to keep pushing forward and we were rewarded by being able to get ahead at halftime.

"I was excited to see us sharing the goals around and happy for the two freshmen, Shackleford and Dice, to get their first collegiate goals."

The Tigers now hit the road for a game with Martin Methodist Saturday.
