Women's Soccer - Tue, Sep. 26, 2017

Georgetown College women's soccer started Mid-South Conference play against rival Campbellsville University. When the two Tigers tangle all records go out the window. CU scored a late first half goal and the two played to a 1-1 tie.

Bethany Massey slipped a ball to Jodi DeJohn as the home Tigers capitalized on one of many early looks on goal. It appeared GC would roll from there, but Campbellsville scored on one of its two shots on frame.

Intensity peaked from there as the teams locked into the next 70 minutes of scoreless soccer.

"Hats off to CU's goalkeeper, she changed the game tonight," said GC coach Leah Crews Castleman. "We tripled their shots, but couldn't get them to fall. No the outcome we wanted for our conference opener. We have a lot of work ahead to refocus and prepare for Lindsey Wilson next week."

Georgetown is 5-3-2 and 0-0-1 in conference. Campbellsville is 2-7-1 and 0-0-1.

The Tigers are back in action 6 pm Oct. 3 hosting Lindsey Wilson College.
