Four Georgetown College student-athletes were honored by the Mid-South Conference for their strong performances during the week of September 10, 2007. Cross Country's Brittany Chesser was named the Female Runner of the Week, while volleyball's Amy Barmore and Jenna Gronotte were honored as Libero and Setter of the Week and Tiger Football's Gabe Guthrie is the Defensive Player of the Week.

Four Georgetown College student-athletes were honored by the Mid-South Conference for their strong performances during the week of September 10, 2007. Cross Country's Brittany Chesser was named the Female Runner of the Week, while volleyball's Amy Barmore and Jenna Gronotte were honored as Libero and Setter of the Week and Tiger Football's Gabe Guthrie is the Defensive Player of the Week.

Chesser, a sophomore pre-med major, won the Berea College Invitational on Saturday after posting a time of 19:18 in the 5K race. This was the second first-place finish in two weeks for the Louisville native.

Amy Barmore is the MSC LIbero of the Week for the second week in a row. The sophomore from Louisville is joined by teammate Jenna Gronotte, who was named the MSC Setter of the Week,also for the second week in a row. Both are leaders on the 13th-ranked Tiger team that won five matches last week. Georgetown improved to 15-1 on the season and has won 15 matches in a row. Gronotte was also honored last week as the NAIA National Setter of the Week and as the Region XI Setter of the Week this week as well.

Guthrie, a 6'1 senior linebacker from Xenia, Ohio was honored after he recorded 14 total tackles (11 solo) in the Tigers 63-3 win over MSC foe Cumberland University (TN). Gabe also tallied four sacks in just under three quarters of action for the Tigers (1-1). Up next for the seventh-ranked Tigers will be a visit to undefeated and tenth-ranked Virginia-Wise for a 1:30 p.m. Mid-South game on Saturday. He was also named the NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week by Football Gazette.
