LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Georgetown College senior guard Hollis Giles is the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Georgetown College senior guard Hollis Giles is the Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Giles, a native of Houston, Texas, averaged 16 points, 4.7 rebounds and three assists on the week to earn his first career MSC honor.

Giles shot 63.3 percent (19-of-30) from the field and 83.3 percent (10-of-12) from the free throw line while helping the No. 18-ranked Tigers to three wins last week. The three games were Giles' first of the season.

In Georgetown's 88-56 win over University of Virginia's College at Wise, Giles scored 15 points and recorded five rebounds and five assists. He added six steals. Giles scored 16 points and pulled down five rebounds in the Tiger's 102-51 win over Temple Baptist (Ohio) College and concluded his week with 17 points, four rebounds and three steals in a 77-54 win over No. 21-ranked Shorter (Ga.) College.

Georgetown is 11-2 on the season.
