Georgetown College seniors Kara Renfro and Jennifer Tarplee ended their collegiate careers with a loss to Martin Methodist University in the NAIA Region XI Tournament on Saturday, but not before being honored as members of the 2008 All-Region team.

Georgetown College seniors Kara Renfro and Jennifer Tarplee ended their collegiate careers with a loss to Martin Methodist University in the NAIA Region XI Tournament on Saturday, but not before being honored as members of the 2008 All-Region team.

Renfro, a centerfielder from Paint Lick, Ky., was defensively perfect on the year and ranked third for the team at the plate with a batting average of .346 in 153 at bats. She led the Tigers in RBIs, bringing in her teammates 57 times, and scored 42 times herself. Kara graduated from Georgetown College on Saturday with a degree in art and received the department's Three Dimensional Studio Award.

Tarplee, a two-time Mid-South Conference Player of the Year, led the team in batting all year and ended with an average of .397. The Cincinnati native faced pitchers 179 times this season and scored 56 runs. She also stole 32 bases in 35 attempts and stood-out defensively at the important short-stop position. Jennifer now holds a degree in exercise science from Georgetown.
