Sioux City, Iowa - Georgetown College added a post season victory with the Tigers' 3-0 win (25-22, 25-12, 26-24) over Lubbock Christian University in their first match of the NAIA Volleyball Championship on Tuesday.

The Tigers, 41-2 on the year and seeded sixth in the tournament, will now face Lee University in their second of three pool play matches, hoping to advance to Friday's round of 16.

Georgetown put together a good defensive match, with 15 blocks in the three sets.  Senior middle blockers Kristy Hock and Cassie Moore led with six and four blocks, respectively.

Allie Bertke, (shown left, photo courtesy of Richard Davis) was stellar offensively, serving five aces and adding 11 kills to lead the Tigers.

"We played a little nervously in the beginning but finally settled in," said head coach Nick Griffin.  "At this point it's just about getting the win."

Griffin will quickly prepare his squad for the matchup with Lee, a team that he says "has a lot of weapons," including size.

"The do some pretty good things, so there is a lot to prepare for," said Griffin, who reached the national tournament in his first year as head coach.

Fans can watch the action live at a rate of $9.95 per day or $14.95 for an all-tournament pass on a webcast offered by watchNAIA.com. High speed internet access and windows media is required.
