Kansas City, Mo. - Erica Janszen of Georgetown (Ky.) has been named the NAIA Volleyball National Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Janszen was selected based on her performances from Sept. 14 - 20. She was chosen out of a pool of conference player of the week selections among 24 conferences.

Janszen and the sixth-ranked Tigers improved to 18-0 on the year after winning the Holiday Inn Classic hosted by Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) over the weekend. She was instrumental in three wins over nationally-ranked opponents as the Tigers swept No. 16 Dordt (Iowa), topped No. 22 Lindenwood (Mo.) 3-1 and upset fifth-ranked Northwestern (Iowa) in five dramatic sets. Her play over the weekend earned her a spot on the all-tournament team.

Prior to the tournament, Georgetown knocked off Campbellsville and the University of the Cumberlands by scores of 3-0 and 3-1, respectively.

The 6-0 senior outside hitter from Cincinnati, Ohio, logged five double-figure kill performances in six matches played last week. She finished the week with 91 kills at a .270 clip. Her high for the week was 23 kills against Northwestern. Janszen also contributed 69 digs and five aces in six matches.

Janszen is averaging 4.2 kills per game which ranks seventh nationally.
