Kansas City, Mo. -- Georgetown College Volleyball has moved to its highest ranking in school history, as the Tigers moved up one spot to No. 5 in this week's NAIA Coaches' Poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

The ranking comes just days after then No. 6 Georgetown upset then No 5 Northwestern in an exciting five set match during the Holiday Inn Express Classic hosted by Olivet Nazarene.  The Tigers also beat then ranked No. 16 Dordt and No. 22 Lindenwood and Indiana Wesleyan in route to the championship matchup.

The Tigers improved to 18-0 on the year and face Pikeville on the road tonight. For first-year head coach Nick Griffin, this week brings a new level of excitement in his 2009 squad.  "It is nice to be able to measure ourselves against tough competition after last weekend and we are looking forward to more tough opponents this weekend."

Georgetown travels to Bellevue, Neb. to play in the Bruin Classic on Friday and Saturday.  Ironically, the Tigers will face both Dordt and Northwestern for the second weekend in a row during the tournament.   In addition, the tournament pits the Tigers in matchups versus Bethany and the host school, Bellevue, ranked No. 15 this week.

The top four in the poll remained unchanged for the third week in a row (Fresno Pacific, Concordia, California Baptist and Columbia)
