Sioux City, Iowa - Georgetown College Tiger Volleyball reached the NAIA National Tournament's Elite Eight but fell to top-seed Fresno Pacific 3-0 on Friday with game scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-9.

Sioux City, Iowa - Georgetown College Tiger Volleyball reached the NAIA National Tournament's Elite Eight but fell to top-seed Fresno Pacific 3-0 on Friday with game scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-9.

The Tigers defeated Columbia College 3-2 earlier in the day to earn their spot in the quarterfinals, while Fresno Pacific received a bye through the morning single-elimination round and had fresh legs entering the match.

No. 1 Fresno Pacific will now face No. 7 California Baptist at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the tournament semi-finals.

Junior middle blocker Kristy Hock led Georgetown with eight kills, while senior outside hitter Jessica Hoeh added seven kills.

Head Coach Jeff Hulsmeyer was named Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches' Association for the Southeast Region today. Hulsmeyer finished his second season with the Tigers and led his squad to a sixth place national ranking in the last poll.

Senior setter Jenna Gronotte and junior outside hitter Erica Janszen were honored as AVCA First Team All-Region. Junior libero Amy Barmore was named an honorable mention selection.

The Tigers end their season with a 36-8 overall record.
