The Georgetown College Volleyball Team finished in third place at the Best Western/KMIZ Classic hosted by Columbia College after posting one win and one loss Saturday.

The Georgetown College Volleyball Team finished in third place at the Best Western/KMIZ Classic hosted by Columbia College after posting one win and one loss Saturday.

In the first match, Georgetown was defeated by fifth-ranked Missouri Baptist 0-3 with scores of 15-30, 25-30 and 27-30. The Tigers were led by Amy Schiller with 13 kills and, Jessica Hoeh led in digs with 11.

The Tigers beat Concordia University (NE) in four games 30-26, 30-25, 27-30 and 30-24 to capture third place later in the day. Hoeh tallied 20 kills and 27 digs in the win and Schiller added 14 kills and three aces. Setter Jenna Gronotte had a big match as well with 50 assists, 12 digs, four kills and two blocks.

The Tigers are back in action with the first home and conference match of the season on Tuesday versus University of the Cumberlands. Match time is set for 7:00 pm.
