Men's Soccer - Sun, Sep. 5, 2010
Georgetown College men's soccer team lost two in the Fort Wayne Invitational against two teams receiving votes for the Top 25. The Tigers (0-3) battled Aquinas Friday with a late goal being the difference in a 2-1 loss.
The quick turnaround, an afternoon Saturday game, proved to be a difficult test for GC. The Tigers fell 4-0 to Davenport.
GC took its first lead of the season Friday night when Taylor Shaver
scored off an assist by Carlos Vieyra
in the second half. However, Aquinas rallied back, tying it with 12 minutes remaining. AC managed to sneak another goal in late for the victory.
The Tigers were unable to get anything going against Davenport, which had a fast start, scoring twice in the first nine minutes.
GC plays its first home game Tuesday against Marian College. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
