Men's Soccer - Sat, Sep. 11, 2010
Georgetown College men's soccer team notched its first win Friday against Union College. The Tigers (1-5) got up early and held on for the 2-1 win.
Freshman Taylor Shaver scored both goals in the first half for Georgetown, and the Bulldogs trimmed the deficit to one before halftime.
The game was intense and very physical, draining the Tigers for a second game in less than 24 hours. GC took on Taylor University, and the Spartans pulled off the 4-0 win.
Taylor only held a 1-0 advantage at half, but netted three in the second to break it wide open.
Georgetown returns to action 2 p.m. Saturday against conference opponent Shawnee State.
