Women's Soccer - Sat, Oct. 2, 2010
Georgetown College women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker in the waning seconds Saturday against Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
The Tigers (6-4, 1-1 Mid-South Conference) controlled most of the match, but were unable to find the back of the net. The Cougars (7-2) found a crease in the defense late and it was the difference in the game.
A through ball found Jessica Estep in stride and despite the chase from the GC defense, got a one-on-one opportunity against Cathie Shaver. Estep pushed a passing shot just by the diving Tiger goalie with 27.4 seconds remaining on the clock.
Georgetown returns to action 6 p.m. Thursday hosting MSC foe St. Catharine.
