Georgetown College suffered a setback in the Mid-South Conference Wednesday night losing to West Division's Shawnee State.

The Tigers (15-8, 7-1 MSC East) got behind 2-0 in games before rallying in the third game. The Bears (22-6, 8-1 MSC West) eventually won, 25-19, 25-15, 16-25, 25-23.

The first and fourth games were back and forth between the two teams receiving votes for the Top 25. Shawnee was able to take the upper hand midway through both games and hold on for the wins.

Kelsey Luckett and Cathy Frank led the attacking game for the Tigers with 18 and 11 kills respectively. Kyla Welch also tallied nine kills. Junior setter Liz Goodin had six kills and 46 assists on the evening, while libero Lauren Meister notched 16 digs.

Jami Turrill led the attack for SSU with 19 kills, while Haley Holcomb had 51 of her teams 57 assists.

GC returns to action 5 p.m. Saturday for Homecoming. The team will play NCAA Division II Kentucky State.

An alumni event will be earlier in the day, 10 a.m. in the Athletic Hall of Fame Room.
