Georgetown College's softball team made it a season sweep of St. Catharine Tuesday with a pair of wins, 6-2 and 6-0, in Georgetown.

Georgetown College's softball team made it a season sweep of St. Catharine Tuesday with a pair of wins, 6-2 and 6-0, in Georgetown.

Whitney Ealey, at left with assistant coach Jamie Conliffe, ripped two homeruns, one each game, as the Tigers improved to 26-16 overall and 17-5 in Mid-South Conference play. The pair of wins improves GC's streak to eight straight games and 18 of its last 20 games.

The Patriots fall to 14-28 overall and 6-12 in the conference.

Brittany Gunther picked up the first win and Michelle Dresselhaus got the shutout victory in the night cap.

The Tigers are now in first place in the conference, ahead of Lindsey Wilson (32-11, 18-6) and Campbellsville (29-17, 15-5). The CU Tigers handed GC its last lost on April 3 in Campbellsville.

Georgetown goes to Midway Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader, before returning to MSC action Saturday against University of the Cumberlands. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
