Women's Soccer - Tue, Nov. 2, 2010
Georgetown College women's soccer's Chelsea Farley exploded for two goals in the final minutes of a tied game with West Virginia Tech this past week, earning her Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
It is the second week in a row a Tiger (11-6, 6-2) has won this honor. Farley, a senior from Crestwood, broke up a 1-1 tie late in the game Oct. 27 and added an insurance goal a minute later to send GC into the postseason on an upswing.
"I'm really proud of her," GC coach Leah Crews Castleman said. "She went in there, stepped it up and scored the game winning goals."
Georgetown returns to action Nov. 6 hosting St. Catharine in the quarterfinals of the MSC Tournament. The game is set to start at noon at Toyota Stadium.
