Men's Basketball - Sat, Nov. 13, 2010

Georgetown College men's basketball wasted little time testing itself against stiff Mid-South Conference opponents. The Tigers (2-0) are hosting the 2nd Annual Andrew Elswick Memorial Tournament with St. Catharine College, preseason MSC No. 3, and Campbellsville University, preseason MSC No. 2, participating.

Friday evening, GC capped off a day of action against the Patriots. The team opened up an 11-point halftime lead and eventually won 78-66. Now the Tigers play rival CU in the 8 p.m. championship game. Campbellsville was an early winner over Southern New Orleans.

Vic Moses led Georgetown with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Vincent Crutcher finished with 12 points and Eddie Gray and Rodney Haddix chipped in with 10 each.

Saturday's action begins with a 2 p.m. tip between women's basketball teams Shawnee State and Mid-Continent. Following that game is a 4 p.m. men's consolation game between SCC and Southern New Orleans. Georgetown's women play at 6 p.m. against Southern Polytechnic, putting its perfect record on the line against a national-ranked opponent.
