Women's Basketball - Fri, Nov. 19, 2010
Georgetown College trailed by 10 at the half to St. Francis University (Ill.) Friday in the 17th Annual McDonald's-Central Bank Jim Reid Classic. But the Tigers clawed back to tie it up late in the second half.
However, it was not enough as the Fighting Saints (4-4) took the 72-63 win over GC (4-2).
The Tigers, playing without point guard Kourtney Tyra, struggled to find rhythm in the early going, scoring just a free throw in the first five minutes.
Mikkah Rogers took over point guard duties and had a double-double, 15 points and 12 rebounds, along with five assists. Shavon Scott came off the bench for nine points and four rebounds.
Georgetown plays NAIA Division II Davenport 6 p.m. Saturday. The Panthers defeated No. 12 University of the Cumberlands in the 2 p.m. game Friday.
